The Brixton People’s Kitchen is back in full steam this Autumn, and here is a summary of where and when you catch us next.
SUNDAYS IN MYATT’S FIELDS We will be cooking up a feast from food surplus in Myatt’s Fields Park every second Sunday of the month from now onwards, including on the 12th October, 9th of November, and 14th of December. To volunteer, please contact Sylvie 07466653761 – email@example.com
The options are as follows: Fridays 8.30-10am: Food collection from the New Covent Garden Market Saturdays 2-3.30pm (timings flexible): Food collection from local delicatessens and bakeries Sundays 10.30-1.30pm: Cooking Sundays 1.30-5pm Eating and socialising (just turn up and enjoy!!)
SUPPER CLUB We’ll be getting our Supper Clubs up and running again this Autumn which are a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a delicious evening meal made from food which would have otherwise gone to waste in more cosy, indoor venues with entertainment -be it live music, poetry, talks etc. The next one will be on the 17th of November, at the Tea House Theatre in Vauxhall, and will help us raise funds for our community meals. More details will follow.
For those of you who have volunteered with us in the past and have been collecting stamps on your loyalty cards, dig them out so that we can reward for all your hard work by a free invitation to a supper club!
INDOOR VENUES Despite the beautiful weather today, at some point in the coming months we will need to look at moving indoors for our events, so if you have any ideas of venues at which to run a supper club or a Sunday afternoon event then please get in touch with me by replying to this email – many thanks!
